Alyssa Lozano & Natomas School Board Vice President Jag Bains.

Sacramento, Calif. – Today, candidate for Sacramento City Council Alyssa Lozano announced she has been endorsed by Natomas School Board Vice President Jag Bains.
“Alyssa is not a political insider. She’s an engaged resident and successful business owner who is in touch with the needs of her community,” says Bains. “She is a compassionate advocate with fresh perspective and ideas that will help steer our city through its toughest challenges. She has my full support.”
Elected in 2018, Bains is the first person of Indian descent to serve on the Natomas Unified School Board. As a Trustee, Bains has prioritized improving student achievement, reducing administrative costs, and investing in college and career pathways.
Prior to serving on the Board, Bains served as a City of Sacramento Parks Commissioner, where he supported renovating and rehabilitating city parks to make them safer and more accessible. Bains is also very active in the Punjabi/Sikh community.
“Bains has served Natomas with distinction and has been a key leader in transforming Natomas Unified School District into a community more inclusive of Sikh culture,” says Lozano. “I’m thrilled to have his support.”
